Lemonade Truce
Two rival kids run lemonade stands on the same street, and a summer of stolen customers and sneaky tricks forces them to choose between fighting forever or becoming a real team.
Tessa Vance set up her lemonade stand at exactly seven in the morning, before the sun was even fully awake. Her sign was painted in three colors, and her pitcher was already sweating with cold. This was going to be the best summer ever.
Then she heard a folding table snap open across the street. A boy with messy hair and a backpack full of paper cups was setting up his own stand, right where everyone could see it.
'Morning, neighbor,' the boy called, grinning. 'I'm Dez. Hope you like coming in second.'
Tessa narrowed her eyes. Second place was not in her plans.
