Storm Chaser's Secret

When a mysterious purple storm appears over tornado country, twelve-year-old Juno must chase it across the countryside and uncover whether it should be stopped or protected.

Juno kicked off muddy boots on the farmhouse porch and watched the sunset paint the Kansas sky orange and gold. At twelve years old, Juno already knew more about weather than most grown-ups, thanks to Grandpa Earl, a retired meteorologist who traded storm radars for sunflower fields.

'Supper's ready, storm bug!' Grandpa Earl called from inside.

Juno grinned at the old nickname. 'Coming!' Life on the farm was quiet, predictable, and safe — but Juno always felt like the sky was hiding something spectacular, just waiting to be discovered.

'One of these days,' Juno murmured, watching the last streak of orange melt into the horizon, 'something amazing is going to come out of that sky. I can feel it.'
