Radio Rebels
Three misfit kids discover a hidden radio booth at their middle school and launch anonymous broadcasts that turn them into underground legends. But when the principal starts hunting for the mystery DJs and a popular kid wants to take over, Casey, Priya, and Deshawn must decide what matters more: ...
Casey Chen had exactly two real friends at Bridgeport Middle School, and that was two more than most people expected. There was Priya Patel, who could fix any piece of technology ever made but would rather eat a calculator than give a class presentation. And there was Deshawn Williams, who was the funniest person Casey had ever met but got so shy around big groups that he once hid inside a recycling bin during a pep rally.
Casey was somewhere in the middle -- not shy, not loud, just sort of invisible. The kind of kid teachers forgot to call on, the kind other kids looked right through in the hallway. 'I could probably disappear for a week,' Casey had once told Priya, 'and nobody would notice except you two and maybe the attendance computer.'
The three of them always ate lunch together at the corner table near the broken vending machine, trading jokes and complaints about how boring everything was. It was not much, but it was theirs.
