Lost Trail

Jordan, an eleven-year-old who always lets friends decide everything, gets separated from their school hiking group in the mountains. Alone for the first time, Jordan must learn to trust their own instincts, make tough choices, and find the way back.

Jordan stood at the trailhead with twenty other fifth-graders, watching the pine trees sway against a bright blue sky. The Ridgeback Mountains smelled like fresh rain and wild mint. Jordan's best friend Marco nudged them and said, 'Stick with me, I know exactly where we are going.' Jordan nodded, happy as always to let someone else lead the way.
