Space Station Omega

You win a trip to a real space station — but when a meteor storm hits, you're the only one who can save the crew.

You have been obsessed with space for as long as you can remember. Your bedroom ceiling is covered in glow-in-the-dark star stickers arranged in real constellations, your bookshelf is packed with astronomy books, and you once stayed up until 3 AM to watch a lunar eclipse from your backyard with your grandma.

'Always reach for the stars,' she had whispered, pressing her lucky pen into your hand. 'Promise me.'

'I promise, Grandma,' you had whispered back.

Three months ago you entered the National Space Agency contest on a whim, writing a short essay about why you wanted to visit space. Ten thousand kids entered. Today, staring at the letter in your shaking hands, you cannot believe that YOUR name was the one they drew.

'This is not real,' you whisper to yourself. 'This cannot be real.' But the letter, stamped with the gold NSA seal, does not disappear when you blink. 'I am going to SPACE.'
