My Cat Is an Alien

A kid discovers their pet cat is actually an alien spy who needs help completing a top-secret mission on Earth.

You are a fourth grader who lives with your mom in a small apartment on Maple Street. You are a pretty normal kid — you like video games, you hate math homework, and you have one best friend: your orange tabby cat, Mr. Whiskers. Your mom got him from the shelter three years ago, and he has been your constant companion ever since.

Mr. Whiskers is a weird cat, though. He stares at the wall for hours like he is reading something invisible. He knocks things off the counter with what seems like scientific precision. And sometimes, late at night, you could swear you see a faint green glow coming from his eyes. You have always told yourself it is just a trick of the light. But this Tuesday morning, as you sit eating cereal before school, Mr. Whiskers hops onto the kitchen table with a look on his face you have never seen before.
